Two years ago I got appointed to a client charged with capital murder. The case was featured on A&E’s absolutely terrible program “First 48” where they painted my client as not only guilty as sin, but as some sort of criminal kingpin in his area. It took two years of my client waiting in jail, three different prosecutors, rounds and rounds of getting discovery, countless hours pouring through it all… but in the end it was supremely worth it. Late last week, the state dismissed it’s capital murder charge against my client and he entered into a fantastic plea deal to reduced charges. That means he went from looking at life in prison without parole to a fantastic deal.
