We strive to help clients through difficult times with compassion, empathy, and integrity. We value our clients as people, so we not only work hard to achieve the best possible result for their case, but we get to know them and their goals and then focus on providing them a simple and easy client experience. Put simply: our clients’ success determines our success.
It’s simple but even still, many attorneys don’t listen. You are more than just a case. We start by listening to you to learn not only the facts of your case but who you are, what’s important to you, and what your goals for the case are. We then individually tailor our representation to fit you. We believe in fighting for justice for our clients and have a history of tremendous success both inside and outside the courtroom. We are proud of the reputation that we’ve developed for truly representing our clients’ best interests, standing up for them in their times of need, and caring about them on a human level. We then leverage that reputation and our skillset in the courts to get fantastic results.
I strive to help people through difficult times with compassion and integrity. I pride myself on standing up for people and helping them navigate through the difficult and stressful process that is our legal system. I focus on my clients as people by taking the time to understand not just the facts of their case, but who they are and what they need. Knowing that the legal process can be intimidating, I explain the process, your rights, your options, and possible outcomes. Perhaps more important than anything else, I have experience trying important and difficult cases and a reputation as an experienced and savvy trial lawyer. Not every case needs to go to trial, but when your attorney has a reputation as a skilled trial lawyer who fights for their clients, it makes all the difference in the world.
I grew up in Dallas and attended law school at SMU Dedman School of Law. I began my career fighting for justice for people in civil cases at Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas and then in criminal cases as as a Public Defender in Dallas. When I realized that I could not represent my clients the way I felt they deserved as a Public Defender, I created my own firm where I could help people my way. For most of my career I focused 100% on criminal defense, handling cases in both state and federal court ranging from misdemeanors up to the most serious felony charges. Over time I realized my clients needed quality representation in personal injury matters such as car accidents, preventable workplace accidents, dangerous products, and so on, so I extended my law practice to include both criminal defense and personal injury representation.
I attended the University of North Texas for marketing and advertising before finishing my Associate degree at Richland College. I was attracted to marketing and advertising because I am a people person and enjoy interacting with and understanding people. I have also worked in many positions totaling 20+ years in the service industry. All of my experience, while diverse, has centered around interacting with and helping people.
Before joining the Law Office of Mike Howard, I had no background in criminal justice or legal generally. I have, however, always been interested in the law. My role as the legal assistant in charge of new client intake allows me to combine my extroverted and social personality with my passion for helping people. I take personal pride in being the compassionate, friendly voice on the other end of the phone (or email or text) when you first contact the Law Office of Mike Howard.
I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Philosophy, and then attended Widener Law School for my paralegal certification. I began my career in law at a small personal injury litigation firm in Delaware, and later moved on to reviewing asbestos liability claims for people negatively affected by big manufacturing companies.
I have always had a strong interest in the practice of law and how it affects all of us, especially those who find themselves victims of our imperfect legal system.I have a passion for helping those in need and feel a sense of pride when I’m able to provide assistance to people going through a tough time in their lives. At the Law Office of Mike Howard, I have found a role where I can truly exercise both my strengths and my ideals. I am ecstatic to be part of a team that shares a passion for putting the client’s needs first, going the extra mile, and treating everyone with compassion.
